We started our reverse engineering project. We picked our partners and I picked Evan. Basically, we chose our group roles. I was the technical writer and Evan was the visual director. We set up or g mails and I remembered Evan's and Evan remembered mine. We made this weebly website. In a short sentence, we finished our group agreement. 11/21/2014 We did our visual analysis on an Automoblox car and Evan's Apple TV Remote. We did this to properly learn how to do it for our actual Reverse Engineering project. We need to describe the color, the space, the rhythm. We took 3 different views of the Automoblox car and Evan's Apple TV. We basically analyzed the object just how we saw it. 12/1/14 We did a structural analysis on the Automoblox car. We sketched different parts of the car. We had a product disassembly chart which we filled out and looked at specifics such as the mass and material of the part. Evan and I took Thanksgiving Break to finish up what we did. 11/25/14 We did a structural analysis on the Automoblox car. We sketched each and every part from the necessary views. I did the sketches and Evan measured and dimensioned our sketches. Today, we will finish the activity. 11/24/2014 We did a functional analysis on the Automoblox car. I learned why tires have a rubber layer on the outside. That rubber layer is for good traction. I think that this helps because we know what each part does and what is the use it is for. We basically know why each part does a certain part. 12/2/14 We basically set up our presentation. We set up an E maze as an alternative to PowerPoint. Also, we finished our research tab. We had to pull out our documents. There was a very good video that we planned to use to make an introduction to our presentation. We are planning to make finishing touches by the presentation deadline. 12/3/14 We made our finishing touches on our presentation. Some of our slides were messed up. Also, I helped Evan for ideas on how to add the YouTube video in the presentation. 12/4/14 Evan and I made a presentation on the structural, visual, and functional analysis. I think we did a pretty good job because we got a 94. I hope that is the grade of my final project, too. 12/5/14 Evan and I made a decision to reverse engineer a toaster for our project. We searched toasters up online. We have to do the visual, structural, and functional analysis of our toaster. I did the visual analysis and Evan did the functional analysis. 12/8/14 Evan and I finished the structural analysis. It was pretty hard finding the toaster. We had to look hard on the Internet to find the materials for our toaster from Black and Decker. We finally finished it because we worked very efficiently. 12/9/14 We basically started our main reverse engineering project on our toaster. We did the design brief. We sketched a lot of sketches on different parts in a toaster. In the design brief, we had to tell the purpose of our product. We tried to start our Autodesk Inventor files. 12/10/14 I was trying to finish up my structural analysis. For the most part, it is done. It was a little bit hard to find the materials. Also, we started our Inventor files and are struggling a little. 12/11/14 We basically made the part files for the toaster. There were many parts to make. Also, we finished every single analysis and design brief. All the sketches are done. We are almost ready for the assembly file. 12/12/14 We got all our part files. The assembly file was giving us a little bit of trouble. The slider could not go on the axle. We finally got it after struggling a lot on Inventor. Now we are ready for the drawing and presentation file 12/15/14 We finished our assembly file. We are going to be really busy this week , so we should work really hard on this project. The presentation file is going to get started The drawing files are something that we might get stuck on for a day or two. 12/16/14 We finished the presentation file and we are halfway done with the .idw file. We also need to start our competition. We are almost done with this project. 12/17/14 We watched two videos on a presentation of reverse engineering a toaster. There were some pros and cons to the presentation. We will add what they did positive to our project. We will try not to do what they did negative on the project. 12/18/14
We are basically done with this project. We just have to make the video and presentation. We need to add a few things to our website. We are ready for the project on 12/19/14. |
